Space Cases Update and Schedule
November 15, 1997

This information reposted with permission from ZaBaGaBe!

Greetings Space Casers!

Yes! We are still here -- just snowed under (in some cases, literally) by a very hectic Hallowe'en season that's finally over! But never fear! Things are settling down, our command crew is re-organizing, and we're BAAAAACCCCKKKK!!

THE NEW GHOSTWRITER MYSTERIES has an ever-growing audience. Be sure to check out KRISTIAN AYRE in the role of Henry "Strick" Strickland on the CBS network (check your local tv listing for the time and actual day in your area). The network air time is 8 AM Eastern on Saturdays. You can also check out the GHOSTWRITER information at Lisa's Unofficial KRISTIAN AYRE Website at:

http://www.andromeda5.com/

Lisa's got some wonderful new scans from GHOSTWRITER and from SPACE CASES. And KRISTIAN continues to work on other projects. More details when they're available.

RAHI AZIZI has been quite busy, too. He worked on a major film this summer (we can't tell you about it yet) and has been honing his stand-up routine with an eye toward performing at some big clubs. Again, we'll give you the details when RAHI passes them along.

PETER DAVID has just completed his newest STAR TREK:THE NEW FRONTIER book, which should be released early in 1998. Plans are for 6 books over a 2 year period. PETER recently visited with ANIK MATTERN and CARY LAWRENCE, and hopes to have the pictures (including some of little PAIGE) up on the X-fficial Website soon. Just a reminder, that site is now at:

/

Speaking of CARY, PETER tells us she was completely overwhelmed by everyone's notes and good wishes for the baby. She was really touched by everyone's efforts.

BILL MUMY'S been very busy with BABYLON 5 and with appearances of his band, THE GENERATORS. Don't forget to look for BARNES AND BARNES' second CD album release, SPAZCHOW (with 13 bonus tracks and extensive liner notes written by BILL) as well as the first, VOOBAHANA. Contact Oglio Records (1-800- COOL CDS) or check with your local music store. And look for his solo album, DYING TO BE HEARD while you're at it.

JEWEL STAITE's first appearance on HONEY, I SHRUNK THE KIDS airs this week in syndication -- again, check your local tv listings. JEWEL will also be singing in an annula Christmas show in Vancouver on December 14th. JEWEL has been having some trouble with her e-mail address of Jewelinc@aol.com, so leave your comments and questions for her on the JEWELINC MESSAGE CENTER at:

http://members.aol.com/zabagabe/jewelinc/jindex.htm

We'll make sure she gets them! JEWEL also has a new snail mail address:

      JEWEL STAITE
      c/o Carrier Talent Management
      2nd Floor
      1260 Hornby Street
      Vancouver, BC V6Z 1W2
      CANADA

Some things are happening on the SPACE CASES front. Plans continue to move forward on the possibility of publishing NEW SPACE CASES stories as electronic books for the computer. This is something PETER is looking into and we hope to know more soon. NICKELODEON ONLINE on AOL has opened a message board for people to leave a note about "The BEST NICK MOMENTS of 1997". Let's get everyone on AOL to post a message about the four SPACE CASES episodes which aired in 1997: Runaway, Trouble with Doubles, A Star is Borning, and A Friend in Need, PLUS the re-airing of the first season episodes.

Unfortunately, no action has yet been taken either for or against the possibility of a deal with THE SCIFI CHANNEL for SPACE CASES. WE really need to boost the letter-writing campaign to see if we can convince NICK to work with SCIFI and to keep SCIFI interested in the show. WE know it's been hard to keep writing the letters over and over again, but that's what will convince NICKELODEON that the SC following is a big one and that we fans just won't give up and go away. NICKELODEON is venturing into the realm of science fiction again with it's new program THE JOURNEY OF ALLEN STRANGE and with its planned live-action half-hour ANIMORPHS show (due for release in fall 1998) so now is the time to remind them they have a perfectly *wonderful* program already. Your letters (and remember, if everyone writes only ONE brief letter to each of the addresses below, each of those executives would receive over 380 pieces of mail about SPACE CASES!) are what keeps this show in their mind and lets them know how much we want quality television like SPACE CASES. You can mention how the unofficial online fan club gets new members each and every week and that interest in the show continues to grow. Websites are cropping up all the time and more and more people are mentioning the show on the NICKELODEON boards on AOL *despite* the fact that NICK deleted the message board devoted to SPACE CASES. And the download library for the show on AOL is quite busy, with the pictures and Christia trading cards being downloaded by new fans daily. The more polite, hand-written letters the better. Here are the contact addresses. PLEASE do write!

Mr. Ian Valentine Mr. Herb Scannell
  Movie Development President
  The SciFi Channel NICKELODEON

New York, NY 10020 New York, NY 10036

  program@scifi.com nicktoyou@aol.com

And, of course, we don't want to forget:

Fan Club News: We STILL need your questions for BILL MUMY and PAIGE CHRISTINA and your information on those SPACE CASES websites you all have created for the next issue of the newsletter.

MARY MORRIS has published the first SPACE CASES fanzine, THE GIZBOT FOLLIES. It contains an episode and character guide, stories, poetry and art all about SC. It's 72 pages long and is available (cost, including first class postage, is $10 US) by writing to MaryMorris@aol.com.

ROBERT RHODES (Shark) has moved his excellent SC website. You can look for it now at:

/

And you can write to him at rrhodes@cyberramp.net. He and TRACEY RICH are re-organizing the SC Webring. For those of you who have SC websites, but are not in the Space Cases WebRing, check out:

/scwebring.html

And apply for use of your site in the WebRing!

Finally, for the fan club news, there have been some changes in our Command Crew. Sadly, CaptZealot@aol.com has had to resign her post as Captain, but, the good news is that her duties regarding the online fanfic zine, ZABAGAZINE, have been taken over by Anglofans@aol.com. Here's the information in their own words:

"OooooooooWeeeeeeeeeOoooooooooo!!!!!!!
You all know what that means -- another transmission from your fearleass leader....
However this one is different -- This one will be the last. On the other side of your monitor is a girl who loves SPACE CASES and almost all the things that go with it ( it getting the axe wasn't on my Top Ten List ) but as they say " All Good Things " must come to an end and this is the end of my term as Captain. I am a senior now in high school and I need to focus my energies elsewhere -- ie: College and grades and plays and work and my new car etc...... So I bid you farewell -- And don't forget:
ZABAGABE!!!!!!!!
Captain Zealot"

And, from Anglofans:

"Hi friends!
I'm Ruth and I'm taking over the fan fiction club that ZABAGABE was trying to start. Need someone to look at what you've written and critque it? Have an idea but don't know where to start? Want input from other writers in a PRchat session? Drop me a line at Anglofans@aol.com and we'll see what we can set up! I'll do my best to answer as promptly as I can.
TTFN! Ruth"

I hope you all join me in saying a fond farewell to CaptZealot and a warm welcome to Anglofans here on the Command Crew.

Here's the most recent NICKELODEON SPACE CASES schedule. We hope to have December's schedule for you soon:

Sun. Nov. 16 Desperately Seeking Suzee 1:30 PM Eastern
Sun. Nov. 23 Forever Young 1:30 PM Eastern
